Department adds to fleet
The unit features a Hale two-stage pump, 1000 gallon water tank and a 30 gallon foam tank, a Husky 10 direct injected foam system, full height compartments on both sides, a hydraulic equipment rack, and a 6Kw Harrison hydraulic generator. It is powered by a Cummins ISL 400hp diesel engine and is equipped with TAK-4 independent front suspension. The cab includes a Side Roll Protection system to help prevent injuries during a rollover collision. Cost of the unit is $325,000.00. The unit was purchased from Potomac Fire Equipment of Hebron, Md. The purchase follows that of a 2003 Pierce Dash 105' Heavy Duty Aerial Ladder and a 2002 Pierce Dash Heavy Duty Rescue. It is the seventh Pierce purchased by the company. The pumper will be designated Engine 815, the "Pride of Calvert" and will be housed at the department's Calvert station. October 4, 2003 More pictures: |
